It’s been a long time since I’ve updated, partially out of laziness, and partially because I’ve been really busy!
At the end of November, we invited the other American teachers over for Thanksgiving dinner.
Amana is patiently waiting for the feast to begin! We had stuffing, mashed potatoes, breaded tofu, bread, salad, candied kabocha, and pizza.
We are ready to eat!
I even made pumpkin pie for dessert.
The following weekend, we had a sleepover for all of our students (8 girls and 5 boys, ages 6-10). It was a really fun time, but tiring. 😀 The day after, we went to a sake tasting festival with one of the teachers and one of the preschooler’s parents.
You got to try 4 kinds of sake for free!

Afterwards, Teddy went to play Magic, and I went out for lunch.

Rice, pickles, and vegetable tempura. Yum!
The following Tuesday, we went over our coworker’s house after school to have dinner and meet his family, who was visiting from England.
His mom made a really delicious cheesy cauliflower dish.
We had a variety of Chinese dishes, as well.
His wife made an apple cake, and we had it with custard sauce.
