Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens

So, today we went on a mission to admire some sakura (cherry blossoms). The websites claimed that the spots we chose would be good for this time of year, but SURPRISE! It was all a lie. Luckily, the second place we headed was Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, so even though there were no sakura, there was at least something to do!

Little World In Inuyama

Today, I went to Little World, a theme park in Inuayama City, with 3 girls from my work. We had a really great time! Little World is a theme park that opened in 1983, and it features buildings, food, clothing, and stores that represent a variety of countries.

Honensai (NSFW)

This weekend we headed out to Komaki, a small town north of Nagoya, to see Honensai. Honensai is a festival held every year on March 15th to encourage fertile crop growth. It features a giant, 2 meter penis float. You absolutely read that correctly. Behind the cut there are some pictures that are not safe for work, and depending on your personal philosophy, may not be suitable for children (though there were many children at the festival!)
