Kiharutei and Tsurumai Cosplayers

Today, we rode our bikes down to Tsurumai to try out a pork cutlet restaurant called Kiharutei that has a vegetarian macrobiotic menu. The food was really good, but SO FILLING! Literally, I have been unable to eat since then, and it’s been 7 hours.

Takisanji Oni Matsuri

After the castle, we returned to Higashi Okazaki Station to catch a bus to the Takisanji Oni Matsuri, a festival which features a fabulous run around an old wooden holding flaming torches while men attempt to capture people (mostly children) dressed up as demons. Questionable in terms of safety, but pretty cool regardless. Unfortunately, you have to wait through a lot of strange stuff before they actually get to the 10-15 minutes of fire festival.

A Snowy Valentine’s Day in Nagoya

Wandering Sapporo and Otaru Akari no Michi

Today, we wandered down to Sapporo Factory (a mall) and looked around for a bit. We also ate some yummy food, had some Sapporo beer, and hung out before heading out to Otaru to see a really cool lantern festival called Akari no Michi.
