After Meriken Park, we headed to Chinatown and to Luminarie.
The gate to Chinatown.
The center plaza in Chinatown was cutely decorated.
When we got to Luminarie, there was a lot of waiting involved.
This was a pretty building that we could see while we waited.
Tons of people! The sign is telling us to stop and wait so people going the other way can cross. Also, keep in mind – this is on a weekday at like 5:30 pm. I would not even want to try this on Saturday or Sunday.
The first part! The Luminarie lights are made in Italy.
The lights reflecting on a store front.
A closeup of the lights.
Going through the arches!
I’m not even sure what is going on here, but I was amused by the magical umbrella.
Even more pretty lights!!
The last of the pretty lights!
I was super excited we got to see this, but we have seen other illuminations in Japan that had more displays and were less crowded.
The Kobe flower clock! Currently decorated as a horse, because it will be the year of the horse in January.
After Luminarie, we tried to eat at this Indonesian place that serves vegetarian options. Unfortunately, it has closed down. However, I am amazing and found a FONDUE RESTAURANT.
We got the salad fondue set.
The fondue had delicious garlic in it and there was SO MUCH CHEESE!! Unfortunately, I burnt my mouth and it still hurts. But it was delicious!
We thought this would be a normal Japanese restaurant and serve small mains with the expectation that you will order sides and appetizers. Hahahaha. This fondue pizza was delicious anyways.
These vegetables were healthy, though.
Well, that’s all for today!! We are heading to Arima Onsen tomorrow!!
