Biking Around Nagoya

Today, we decided to rides our bikes around. We didn’t really know where to go, so we decided to bike to Kiyosu Castle, which is in the next city.

We’d already seen the castle, so we just looked around the outside. When we arrived, we noticed that there was some type of farmers’ market near the castle, so we checked that out. I was excited because I got roasted chestnuts!! 🙂

After shopping, we took our bikes and rode along the river.

We saw these cool birds sitting on a water pipe.

This crane appeared to be guarding the rice fields.

After we had our fill of biking, we headed back to Nagoya and went to Mozo (the mall). They had a really cool display of decorative bridges built from newspapers! We even got to vote on our favorites.

This was not one of the ones that were in the contest, but I thought it looked really cool.

I really liked the giraffe and the shinkansen bridges, and voted for both of those.

Here is Teddy, carefully choosing his favorites. I voted for the bridge with people on it.

This one of Mount Fuji also got one of my votes.

I also voted for this Fuji, because it was a really cool shape.

Because we rode our bikes for over two hours today, we rewarded ourselves with delicious cake from Regnie.

I got the Fig Tart and Hot Chocolate. Teddy got a chocolate cake and an Iced Chocolate.

Well, that is all for our day!
